  • Kybella is a non-surgical injection technique used to reduce excess fat beneath the chin, also known as a double chin. Fat-solving injections are a series of injections that dissolve stubborn pockets of fat resistant to diet and exercise.

  • Kybella works by using deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella permanently destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin.

  • The number of treatments required varies from person to person. Our nurses will develop a customized treatment plan during your consultation to help you achieve your desired results.  Expect between 2 to 6 treatment sessions, spaced at least 1 month apart.  At each session, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin.

  • As with any injection, there can be side effects. Common side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, or areas of hardness in the treatment area.

  • Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the injection, but a local anesthetic enhances comfort.

  • Downtime is minimal with Kybella. After the treatment, you may experience some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Swelling usually lasts 3-5 days.
